Peggy's Birthday

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO PEGGY

Peg has finally caught up to me in age.We are both now 59

Today we were in a golf tournament.

Peg played better than the other day and I kicked Rod's butt.

We all won diddly squat. What a surprise.
Actually due to a mistake they gave Rod tokens for 2 buckets of balls at the range.(I think they saw him play and thought he needed the practice.)

Twas a gorgeous day,we ad fun and got some serious sun.

Then it was off to the clubhouse for happy Hour.
Then dinner after was great salad and cardboard pizza but the socializing was great.

We saw some people we met here last year and a couple came back to our place for drinks after.

We also met some other people than we plan on playing a little Texas Holem with Friday nite.

We  had a great time.

This little guy caught Rod using a foot wedge.

Yup,I said first.Peg won the tournament-$161.00 US

Monday

Another lazy day

The sun shone but the wind was cool.

Peg went for a long walk I went for a short bike ride.

I went to the RV store to buy some RV goodies(blue stuff)

Rod went golfing in men's league and Cathy never came out of their house.(sore ass I think)

FYI
Forgot to tell you this.

When we were camped in the exclusive Lake Lloyd Camping area of the Daytona International Speedway,we were surrounded by Prevosts(coaches than cost about 1.5 million and up)
There were 2 security guards at the gates 24 hours.
Theoretically all our neighbours were either rich or pretending to be rich.
But the last night there one of the S O B's stole my Canadian Flag
Can you believe it?

GONE

Hemet,CA Sunday February 21,2010 AD

Went shopping foe dog food today.

We also picked up some food for the dogs.

Rod and Cathy went to Temecula so we had them pick up a case of our old friend 2 buck Chuck

That's right 2 buck Chuck.It's actually $1.99 a bottle but who's pinching pennies.
A case for $23.76
What a country.

Cathy took up roller blading today.

It was probably $69.00 for the blades and 3 grand for the outfit?

All those pads but when she fell on her ass-----owwwwwwwww wwwwww

Then after dinner we played Texas Holdem with Rod,Cathy,John and Shirley.

Shirley kicked our butts.
(We met John and Shirley here last year.they are from Edmonton)

SATURDAY

Just time to relax after the drive.

Watched my man win the Nationwide race

Friday, February 19, 2010

Friday

We got up,packed up and drove about 5 miles down the road and had breakfast.

After breakfast we finished the drive to Hemet.

Arrived about 11 am

Finally,We have arrived.

Time to relax.

Rod and Cathy(Peg's brother and Sister-in-law) are here and they are cooking some Filets for dinner

What a country!

Thursday

Nothing exciting.

Just drove and drove
Cruising through Phoenix

Then traffic stopped and I said "Oh Dear"

Ah but sooner or later I catch on.We have 2+ people in the vehicle so I can travel in the carpool lane.
That was awesome,passed everybody.
I never realized how many vehicles only have 1 occupant.

We are on a mission. We have some very good friends that we have soared by on our way to Hemet.
I guess the good news is all were treated equal. We stopped to see no one.
The bad news is we stopped to see no one.
Next year(all things permitting)We will do the West and visit with them all.

We needed water,so when passing through Quartzite we decided to buy a tank full of filtered water for $3.00
We filled up but there was nobody there to pay.
I guess you might say we drank and dashed.

So now we are on the run, checking the mirrors, darting in and out of traffic, looking over our shoulders all the time, ducking every time we see a cop, wearing disguises and leaving no trails.
It,s a rough life being a fugitive from the law

OH DEAR

Wednesday

Staying at Wally's on the east side of Houston was not a great idea as we had to make our way through Houston This morning.Next time we will stay on the west side

Then it  was through San Antonio

Then I got the coach into a HEB parking lot that I could not get out of.
So it's unhook the Jeep etc etc-Lots of fun.

Finally after about 650 miles we end up at a rest stop just outside of Van Horn Texas

Tuesday on the Road

Left the rest stop just after 8am.(I think thats a new record)

Said good bye to Florida.

Said hello to Alabama
Said good bye to Alabama

Said hello to Mississippi
Said good bye to Mississippi

Said hello to Louisiana
Said good bye to Louisiana

Said hello to Texas
This could be another story
I think it's about 880 miles accross.

Mobile Alabama

Alabama tunnel

Mississippi Bridge

Louisiana-Welcome to the Swamp

So much swamp they built this 18 mile long bridge_18 miles

ON THE ROAD AGAIN

Dropped Debby and John at the car rental joint, then back to the track.
Picked up the bikes and packed up.

By the time Carl and us got out of there it was just after 12.

Both of us bound for California.

Along the way it is decided that 2500miles to Hemit and then 1800miles home is too far to drive so the plans change.(7000km)

To what,only time will tell.

I'm tired so 335miles later we stop at a secure rest stop for the night

Daytona 500

Sundays 500

Deb and John getting ready

Then the sun comes out and it gets hot.

Must be hot! the naked fan is out

The crowds are gathering

Sara Palin

Jim Belushi and Larry the Cable Guy were also there.

Then of course Tim McGraw sang 4 songs

Chatty was there too

Twas a great race with the wrong guy winning again!

It was also a long race
6 1/2 hours due to a sink hole in turn 2

This meant the sun went down and the breeze blew
Got burnt in the afternoon

And we froze again.later

Good racing,good times.a great experience.
Camping on Lake Lloyd was also great thanks to Carl Harr
Would have been even better if it was warmer.

Daytona

Saturday afternoon we had the Nationwide Race.
It was sunny and a little warm

We rented these tv/radios
You can also program them so you can hear your favorite drivers converse with the crews

There were lots of wrecks

The wrong guy won and Danica did shit but everybody loves her anyway.(what has racing come to)

Then we had the truck race at night.
Man was it cold.(Major shrinkage I tell you)
Lots of wrecks in this one too
The wrong guy won this race too but Kyle did a hell of a job in both races.

Friday, February 12, 2010

Friday

Today the Truck Race was cancelled due to the x%#@*& weather.

So tomorrow we have 2 races.

They like to run up the electric bill here.

Just leave the lights on all night
