We will be getting ready to head out again after the long weekend in Sept.
Will start a new blog maybe in late august.

ONLY 7 MONTHS TODAY TILL CHRISTMAS!

Peg and I are both feeling pretty good even though it snowed on the long weekend.What else is new?
We are at Whitecourt staying at  her sister's place as they are in Phoenix and our coach is in getting it's final check over before the factory warranty runs out next week.
The kids were all up for the weekend for the snow and cold.
Some of the guys went quading while the rest kept the fire going to keep warm.
Jeff,Jeff and I cut down some dead trees where I plan to park the coach,that way they will not fall on it like they did my truck a couple of years ago.
Today I guess I'l buck them up.One thing about owning an acreage is that there is always something to do.

Oh ya,Now that the weekend is over the sun is out and the temperature is rising.

Tuesday May 11,2010

Well here it is one day after our 13th anniversary.Who knew.

Peg is feeling a little better and I am finally getting around without too much trouble.
The joys of getting old.

We are out of Glowing Embers and are now in Riel Park,St. Albert.We will be here till the 20th of May,then heading for Whitecourt for a few months.

Life is not very exciting when you are not healthy and the weather sucks, but things are improving every day.

May 4th

Peggy is feeling better but nothing has been resolved as she was supposed to go and get blood work done but the stubborn old cuss has not gone yet.She claims she is too busy but the farm is being well kept.
Now that tax season is over she will be getting things handled.Trust me!

And then there is me,I have been down for 13 days with the back.Finally yesterday it let go and now we can work on recovery.At least now I can get around.We shall be fine.

Oh isn't this lovely!It's below freezing outside and snowing like a bitch.

What a xxox#x country.

Friday

Peg went for her stress test this morning and they say everything is just fineThat's good news but what is wrong,she still feels the same.
More tests I guess.
Some friends,Barry and Gail,whom we met on the east coast (they reside in Chase BC) were in town visiting their son so we had lunch with them yesterday.
Then it was home to bed for me as my back spasms are back.Now I get to lay around all day,on drugs, waiting for them to go away.
Sooner or later we will be back to normal I hope.

Wednesday

Well I told you so the other day.
Damn I'm smart
Spent the day at the Hospital.Peg was not feeling well,chest pains,not breathing well,left arm tingly.
She went to the clinic,they sent her to the hospital.
Got there around 11am left there after 5pm.
They found nothing wrongHeart,blood,everything is fine they say.
They are sending her for a stress test but that will probably be on Friday.
She says she still feels the same but I guess time will tell.
I will notify you if there is any other news.

SUNDAY

Well looky that!
Here it is Sunday already.
Been hanging around the office,cleaning up the left over building supplies,running errands etc.Pretty exciting life eh.
Anyway!the weather has improved a great deal,does not freeze at night anymore and yesterday it was 23C,that's probably 72F.Can't wash the Coach because this campground is dirt and everybody drives like an idiot through here.It's. dust bunny heaven.
Picked up a couple of the grandkids from school on Friday.They had fun riding in the convertible with the top down.sure is nice to have good weather again.Then I went over to the Kimballs for a pop or 2.  
Took a load of crap to the river yesterday,twas a nice drive ,had a few beers with my brother in law John.The dogs had a taste of freedom and a good run.
Peggy is still just working all the time but I guess the good news is there is only 2 weeks left till the end of tax season.
Going to watch the Nationwide race today as I have it PVR'd then I will watch the Sprint Cup race.

Thursday Morning

Yes we are still alive and kicking.

Peggy is very tired,not sure how long she can keep up this working like she is doing.She is getting too old for this shit and it shows.I guess she will just keep doing it till we have to go visit her in the hospital!

Anyway!the weather still sucks but they say it will get much better starting today

My brother in law John came to town yesterday so I hitched a ride back to Whitecourt and picked up my truck.
It's great to have the old girl back.(the truck)

Got a new computer yesterday,trying out a Mac Book,not sure yet cause everything is different than a PC but I think it's going to be great once I get used to it.

Not a lot to talk about,been researching MH insurance,seems there is only one co. in Canada that insures higher end MH's and they are not cheap.Will keep searching.
I might even have to start working around Peg's office soon.Working!what a horrible thought.

FRIDAY

I hate this weather.

And the view leaves something to be desired also.

Today I had lunch with an old friend LP and got caught up on shit.

Then we got to see my other son  Jeff and his daughter Olivia for dinner.We had a great visit and ended back at our place to watch Kyle win a awesome race.
Twas a pretty good day

THURSDAY

The vet wanted a urine sample from Cher.
Have you ever tried getting a sample from a small dog?
I didn't have much luck but Peg got one this morning.
So it's off to the vet-Another $66.31 later I'm out of there.

Then it is another visit with the bank,pick up a few things,move the Motorhome as the park says I parked too far back.I am kind of long you know.Now I stick out the front.Whatever!

Then it was time for a Blizzard and I don't mean the kind you get at Dairy Queen.
This sucks.
I think I like the California weather better.

WEDNESDAY

Peg gets up at six.She has her car now but she still gets up at six.That means I get up at six.I try not to but after pinning the dogs down and holding their mouths open so we can squirt some medicine into them,I just cannot seem to get back to sleep.
I guess what is good enough for the goose is good enough for the gander.I hate ducks(2's)
Then it's off to St.Albert,go to Staples buy the office paper,get Peg's car washed and filled with gas,do to the bank etc etc.
What a busy boy.
The rest of the day is routine crap which you do not want to hear about anyway.

Tuesday

Holy shit!

 Peg had not picked up her car yet so I had to get up at 6am and drive her to her car.6am,that's the middle of the night.Dropped her at Wendy's where the kids were just leaving for school.Twas great to see them again.Then it was over to Peg's office where Wendy had picked up Timmy's.
AHH my first Timmy's since we left Canada in the fall.

Now it's off to the grocery store to load up on grub.It's ok I will be just fine after I get over my first case of sticker shock.Wow we sure get it stuck to us here in this country. OH but it was 10% Tuesday so the savings poured in.

Enough of that talk,it's over to Cobb's Bakery to get a fresh loaf and home to eat it.

Soon it's time for the appointment at the Vet's.
Seems the critters have critters.(worms),not only that but they  have Guardia,better known as Beaver Fever.
(I think I might have had a version of that myself once).Plus Cher has a bladder infection.
$421.83 and 2 hours later I finally escape with a bag full of drugs.Whew!

Now it is time to go home and rest with a cold one.(no I'm not talking about Peggy,she is at work,I mean a Bud)
But there is no time to rest I have to make dinner.Ham,scallop potatoes and glazed carrots.

Anybody think I might be in trouble for an earlier comment?

Monday in Edmonton

Daytime temperature is pretty good for this time of year(mid 50's)Nitetime below 0 still and no snow.
It's Alberta so the sun is shining brightly it just does not have that California heat.

Apparently the earthquake shook our campground in CA for about 30 secs according to my brother-in-law Rod.Now Peggy is pissed because she missed it and an earthquake is on her "bucket list".Can you believe that?

Oh ya know how everything comes at once-Peggy's phone crapped out and both our computers are toast.
Who knew!

I did some chores and Peg stopped by work but not much doin

The Trip North

Saturday we got an earlier start and drove through Utah where we spotted our first snow

Then it's on through the farmlands till you reach the one farm that is always a warm and inviting sight.

The Bud Farm

Then it's on to Northern Montana where we spent the night at a rest stop

Sunday we are on our way to the border and who do we spot passing us.John and Lynda Fisher from Edmonton.We have not seen them in over a year.Stopped by the side of the road and had a quick visit.

Got to see their new Coach(pretty nice)

Soon we are at the border and like a good law abiding citizen I declare the booze we have that is over the limit.We have an extra 100 bottles of 2 buck chuck.

They smack us with a whopping $198.82 in taxes or whatever.

Our 2 buck chuck is now 4 buck chuck.

Hell of a deal.What a  country.

We make it to Airdrie(about 180 miles from home)where we plan to spend the night at Wally's but there are signs telling us no.We spend the night next door at Home Depot.

Monday 11 am we are back in Edmonton at Glowing Embers Park.Not that glowing but boy is staying here also.

FRIDAY

Went to the IHOP for breakfast with Rod and Kathy.

That means we did not get away as early as planned.

We did leave by the crack of almost noon though.

Twas a beautiful day for a xxo#*xo drive north

Made it to a Casino in Mesquite.

We managed not to lose any money in the Casino as we did not darken their doors.
End of day

THURSDAY

Last day in Paradise

Have to header home tomorrow.Shit!

Today we finished packing up,then did a little visiting.the park is emptying out fast.

Said good-bye to our friends from Kelowna.Pat,Dave and Diego.(maybe we will get to Kelowna this Sept)

Then it was Happy Hour at Bert and Ernie's.(It's actually Bert and Barbara but you know how things get twisted)

Soon it was time for poker

This Royal Flush really happened(Bert)

However the big weiner was yours truly.(Finally kicked Dennis's ass)
I might have even wiped that smile off his face but I doubt it)

Everybody came back to our coach for a final drink,then goodbyes were said.(We also look forward to catching up with some of these people in Sept when we invade the island)

WEDNESDAY

Had a few errands to run but not much to tell.

Started packing up for the trip home.

Played some poker-that's it

So here's a story:

                               For his birthday Bobby asked for a 10 speed bike.
His father said"We would love to buy you one but we have a $450,000 mortgage on the house and your mother just lost her job.therefore we can not afford one."
The next morning the dad saw Bobby heading out the front door with his suitcase packed.
The Dad asked"Where are you going."
Bobby replied"Last night I was walking by your bedroom  and I heard you say:I'm pulling out and then mom said I'm coming too: so I'l be damned if I'm going to stay around here with a $450,00 mortgage and no xoxx#*x bike.

Tuesday

Today it was off to Palm Springs

Picked up some Two-Buck-Chuck

Dropped Chris at the airport.

Picked up Peggy

Hated to say goodbye to Chris but loved to say hello to Peg

Monday

Just another day on the course.

The sun was shining

It was 84 degrees or about 27c

Tough course but birdied 18 while playing injured so that makes you want to come back.

Then after a few cold ones we BBQ'd some steaks.

Sunday

Race was postponed due to rain.

Hung out at the pool

Then we went to Laurie and Dennis's for Happy Hour and  Pizza

Ending with Poker

Saturday

Twas another hot one

First it was breakfast

36 cans

Then a little shopping(we also got food)

We each got a case and when we got home we noticed they only charged us for 1 case.

Wow $10.00 for 36 cans-What a Country

 

Chris worked on his tan

Cher worked on her tan

Me I just worked

Got my new Energy management System installed.

Sonny went missing for a while

We called and called him then went searching

But no Sonny

Then we found him right in our yard.

He had found a Raw Hide dog bone and was guarding it.

Soon it was off to dinner

Looks like Rod fell for the Rolls

Me I just fell for the wine

Papa was singing

And a good time was had by all

FRIDAY

Went golfing-Forgot the camera.

1 Birdie on the front nine
4 Birdies on the back nine.

Can't remember the last time I had 4 Birdies on one nine.
(Maybe it was the time Barry and I won the MG?)
(Maybe it was Barry who had them?)

Had a few cold ones after as it was another great day for America everybody.
Why? you ask

Then we were supposed to play poker but we could not find all the players so we played on line.

THURSDAY

Nine months today is Christmas-HO HO HO

Chris went to LA today and I stayed home to install my surge system but all the parts were in the Jeep.-dah

Well I guess he didn;t make it to LA

 

Mean while I am home cleaning toilets

Another day of golf

After golf it was knock back a few and head to mens poker

I finished second.

Tuesday

WORK WORK WORK WORK WORK

Did laundry all day
Shopped for parts to install new surge protector
Shopped for a few groceries and beer(Still $20.99 for 36 cans of Bud)

Don't drink rum but it seems cheap for a 1.75

Then after a few cool ones it was off to Poker

After poker we tried doctoring up a frozen pizza but we totally screwed it up so we are still hungry

Monday

There were a few clouds today but it was a great day for golf.

It was a tough course

With some well placed trees

And some cool shacks

We had another good day but I do miss my Honey
