Sunday

Well it's Sunday morning and we sit and wait.

Got out of the house yesterday for the first time in over a week.My back is improving every day  but my feet are causing big problems.This of course is causing us to be bored out of our minds.All we do is watch movies.

We will see what happens today and if things don't improve we will be going back to see Bones.

Peg has been looking around,but she has not found  2-32 year olds she could trade me for-Yet

Thursday

Today was US Thanksgiving so that was an excuse to have turkey.

Peg cooked up large turkey tit with all the fixins and it was fantastic(the leftovers will even be better.

My back still sucks but it is improving a little.

All the people we met have left the campsite and there are not many of us here.

Right now it's hard to meet new people as I have been unable to leave the house for a week and it has turned quite cold and nobody else is coming out either.

I also think I am starting to drive Peg nuts.She has been great about doing everything  even  the worst job
of them all-THE SHITTER HOSE

Still we have a lot to be thankful for,thinks could be a hell of a lot worse.

Wednesday November 25

1 month till Christmas


Been laid up for a week now.

This is not very exciting.

Oh did I mention it's a dry county.
No bars
No booze of any kind in restaurants
No liquor or beer or wine for sale anywhere.

Mr Liver is a very happy camper.

Tomorrow is US  Thanksgiving so the plant will be shut down for 4 days.

This means we will be pulling a Smokey and the Bandit to the next county.

This also means we will probably be here for 2 more weeks

wow!

Monday

What a thrill-spent 2 more x&#^*X days in bed.

However I think there might be a light at the end of the tunnel

Saturday Nov 21st

Still in Red Bay

Not a lot to report.

We did a factory tour one day which was very interesting.They let you go any where in the plant including going through the units they are building.

One day we went to the next county for booze as this is a dry county.

One reason we will be here for a while is a factory recall on some roof brackets.It took 3.5 days to fix.

I had a sport injury.wrecked my back during one of the world's most dangerous and crazy sports.(sock installation)
Today is day 3 in bed.Other than a trip to the hospital.
It's not too exciting for Peggy as she has to do everything.

We hope things will get better here soon.

Tuesday

Looks like we might be staying here forever.

Monday November 16

We have to have the Motor Home at the service bay at 7am each morning.

Holy Shit that's early for us.

We have quite a list of concerns,lots being small loose items so I think we might be here for a while.

This morning we went to a small out of the way restaurant down the road for breakfast.
Peg had an omelette,toast,hashbrowns and coffee
I had bacon,eggs,toast,hasbrowns and coffee.
Total bill taxes included $8.40-How bout that?

We shopped around and looked around then just came back to the campground and read till we collected the MH before 3pm

That's our exciting day

Red Bay

When leaving Memphis

We thought about buying one of these upscale condos

But they were just a little too pricey.

We arrive at the Tiffin Campground(Allegro Campground)

There are about a hundred full hook up spots.

And it's full
 

Some are here for Warranty but most come here at least once a year for repairs or additions or modifications

Most do not have appointments and it's first come first serve or just wait and wait and wait.

We are lucky-We have .an appointment.

Friday

Our friends are heading for Yuma and we headed to Graceland

Here we are lining up to pay to park and pay for everything.big money grab.
They say Elvis's estate makes more money now than he did when he was alive.
I believe it!

This is the mansion,actually a small house.we were quite surprised.
And ugly inside.Elvis would never have made it as an interior decorator.

The reason there are not a lot of interior pictures is that they do not allow flashes.

Anyway we did it and it was another great experience.

Thursday

Today was a relaxed day,up late and start slow.
I don't think Peg did too much.I manage to treat my tires and wax 1 exterior door.
I know thats a lot of work for 1 day but someone had to do it.

Can you believe this!

John and Joyce forced us start pounding them back at 2pm when we began our Euchre game.
It was the Master sex verses the weaker sex. so I guess there is no need to relay who did the ass kicking.

This is how John and Joyce haul their toys.

So if your truckin down the road and you see this in front of you,just follow along and there will be a good time a waitin when it stops.

Wednesday November 11

We head to town looking for some grub.Depressing place,lots of empty buildings and signs of poverty.

The Mississippi,however,seems busy.

After we got home and I stopped sitting around watching the river,I washed the Bus and what would you know it was "Happy hour".
Our new "buds" were supposed to head out today but we twisted their arms and they decided to stay another day or two.so it's off to their place for a cold one.

It's obvious to me that Joyce and John are a bad influence on us as it was another extended happy hour.

Tuesday

We arrived in Memphis Tennesee and then scooted over the bridge to West Memphis Arkansas where we are staying

The sun is shining and again the weather is great here.No fears.

We are camped along the Mississippi River and we will stay here until we head for Red Bay Saturday morning.

We have met some great folks,Joyce and John who are full timers and also Tiffin owners.Of course we got together for an extended "Happy Hour".They have been to Red Bay so we learned some tid bits and ins and outs from them.

There are a few other Tiffins here so we hope to meet some of those tomorrow and who knows maybe Elvis will stop by.

Monday

So Ida has been reduced to a tropical storm .Winds 65 to 73 mph,still maybe 6" of rain and Tornado's.

We are heading north along with 90% of the campers that were staying at our campground.The rain started,the wind blew and we flew.
Cluck,cluck,cluck.

We are now in Jackson Mississippi,no wind or rain at the present,but who knows.

Tomorrow we are heading for Graceland to find Elvis.

Sunday

The sun was shining,it was a beautiful day.The wind has picked up a bit so we headed for the beach to see what was happening.

Much higher waves and more wind.

Some have lifted their boats from the water in anticipation of the storm.

So we can't decide whether to stay or to flee.
So we watch the race that Kyle should have one as he dominated the whole race and was leading with 3 laps to go when he ran out of gas.SOB.

The weather man has changed his story.Hurricane IDA will be hitting land right where we are.It is now a category 2 hurricane(sustained winds of 100mph(160kph)
It is supposed to hit here as a category 1Sustained winds of 75mph(110kph) with gusts much higher.
Up to 6" of rain and followed by Tornado's.
WE ARE GETTING THE HELL OUT OF HERE.

Saturday

After having a late breakfast,as usual,we took the mutts for a walk around the park.

By then it was time for the nationwide Race.

OH MY is that Kyle again.

I think so!

After the great race we headed off to wally's to get some grub.

As you can see things have not changed much since our last visit to the mart.

How do you buy food after this?

Friday

Peggy took off today to go and get her hair cut.

I think this is the second time Peg has driven since we left home.

She did make it back safely.

Me---well I reorganized the basement.It took me all day,big job you know.

Then seeing that it is Friday we had pizza,played a little poker and settled in to watch the truck race.

Oh my-who is that crossing the finish line first?

Yes it's my man Kyle again-gettin r dun in Texas.

Thursday

Well it looks like we will not have to outrun a Hurricane.Ida appears to be fizzling out.

so it's off to the Gym

Not in very good shape! Thirty minutes was my limit.
Maybe better next time.

We did not do much today.
A little cleaning,then we went to the pool for a while and enjoyed the sun,then off to the fresh fish market and got fresh shrimp and fish for supper.(can u believe me and all this fish)
I have never been a fish fan but there is a big difference when it is fresh.

That's about it for today-Retirement is a bitch!

Wednesday-The Gulf Coast

So here we sit waiting to find out if Tropical Storm IDA will be Hurricane Ida and is it heading for us.

Lets go for lunch.

We got rid of the kids at the grooming joint.$26.00 a dog-wow

We took a short tour around and then went to LULU's for lunch.

We had an excellent lunch with me ordering-Jalapeno hush puppies,blackened shrimp,grilled fish and fried ocra.Can you believe that?
It was awesome.
Oh ya-Peg had food too.

They fed us way too much food but we ate it all.

I am full so I will go rest now.

Tuesday Nov 3-The Gulf Coast

Monday we said good-bye to all our friends and headed for the southern tip of Alabama on the Gulf coast to relax until our appointment on the 16th at the Tiffin factory in Red Bay Al.

We are staying at a new Motorhome Resort called Bella Terra in Foley Al

A gorgeous resort with a clubhouse with all the amenities.

Gas firepit and BBQ

Nice grounds

Nice. pool and hot tub.

It seems that this is our own private pool and hot tub because both afternoons we have come here we are the only ones taking advantage of the facilities.
